Temecula Balloon & Wine Festival 2008

My three sisters and I just got back to our home in Alberta, Canada after spending a fabulous week in Palm Springs and Los Angeles, California. We drove from Palm Springs in a gorgeous cobalt blue convertible to the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival out by Lake Skinner.

What a great festival. It was filled with all kinds of colorful sights, delicious smells, lots of wine and a crowd of about 40,000 very friendly people. We personally met a lot of them and made some new friends. The sun shone all day and not a cloud got in the way.

ImageThe icing on the cake was we were able to park ourselves in our little lawn chairs in the grass about 10 feet away from the stage where after watching four very talented acts we welcomed Kenny Loggins to the stage!

My third time seeing him overwhelmed me with such heart warming feelings. His music and lyrics make my heart soar and his voice makes me get so choked up I can't stop the tears from tumbling down my cheeks.

So there I am with this ear to ear smile, my eyes never leaving him, singing my heart out and bawling my head off. My sisters and I waved our Canadian flag every so often.

Poor Kenny. He must have wondered what the hell had ever done to deserve this.

I did have kind of a nice little speech to tell him but one of my sisters interupted me and then all I could do was hold him around the waist like I'd never let go. He was so sweet. He cuddled me back, even while signing autographs for us and posing for pictures.

We presented him with a silver ring that my sister designed to help raise funds for an orphanage and adult school in Camboia. Kenny thanked us and chose the smallest one to give to his daughter. He was very gracious, under the circumstances, and mentioned that he noticed us waving our flag during the show.

Thank you to the nice lady who took all the pictures with my camera for me. She did a great job.

It was a dream of mine to get to see him perform again, let alone meet him and I am so very grateful. I want to thank you sooooo much for the meet and greet passes. We had one of the most exciting, fun, wonderful days of our lives and the four of us will never forget it. My only wish now is that the day was still in the future and that we'd get to do it all over again.

Thank you very much KL Connection! I'll never forget the great time we had. I have attached a couple of pictures. I am the one attached to Kenny's left side, with longer dark hair wearing the dress with turquoise flowers. I am very grateful my sisters are also my best friends.

Fans forever,
